COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West announced the inaugural women’s tennis all-tournament team as voted on by the Conference’s head coaches. The all-tournament team is comprised of student athletes who played a majority of the league tournament at the position they were selected for.
Boise State, Colorado State, San Diego State, UNLV and Utah State are represented on the all-tournament lineup.
The tournament MVP was Gloria Alogo Piqueras from San Diego State, after taking the lead against UNLV during the title match, giving the Aztecs a 2-1 lead before winning 4-2. Teammates Yasmine Kabbaj and Zoe Olmos were named the No. 1 and No. 6 singles all-tournament players, respectively.
Boise State’s Nicole Discenza was named the No. 5 singles all-tournament player. Colorado State Radka Buzkova and Luana Avelar were voted to the No. 2 and No. 3 singles lines, respectively, and Avelar and Logan Voeks filled in the No. 3 doubles line. Tournament runner-up UNLV’s Cindy Hu and Coco Zhao were named to the No. 2 doubles line. Utah State’s Zeynep Ozturk and Laura Eugenio De Hilario locked in the No. 1 double slot.
