COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West announced its 2013-14 Scholar-Athlete Award recipients today. A league-record 651 student-athletes were honored, including 50 individuals who have achieved a 4.00 or higher cumulative grade point average over two or more terms, and 85 student-athletes who were recognized in multiple sports. The 651 honorees surpass the previous Conference high of 632 in 2012-13.
The MW Scholar-Athlete Award is one of the highest academic honors bestowed by the Conference. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition in a Mountain West-sponsored sport.
