COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West Network, powered by Campus Insiders, announced today its broadcast schedule for the 2014 football season. New Mexico's season and home opener against non-conference opponent UTEP on Saturday, August 30, will kick off a series of seven Saturday contests that will be broadcast live online exclusively on the MWN and CampusInsiders.com. This marks the most live football games streamed exclusively by the Mountain West Network and Campus Insiders since the inception of the partnership.
The Mountain West Network will also carry Utah State's non-conference meeting with Idaho State on Sept. 6, UNLV's home tilt with Northern Illinois on Sept. 13 and two games on Sept. 20 as Wyoming hosts Florida Atlantic and Southern Utah takes on Fresno State. The final two games feature Colorado State hosting Tulsa on Oct. 4 in a non-conference affair, while on Nov. 8, Air Force travels to UNLV for a Conference meeting between Mountain (Air Force) and West (UNLV) Division teams. The MWN and Campus Insiders will also feature a variety of Mountain West-related news, analysis and content throughout the entire season.
"The Mountain West is a tremendous partner, and we look forward to building on last season's success and once again providing a great schedule of football games to fans," said Crowley Sullivan, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Campus Insiders. "Producing high-quality, live programming like Mountain West football is very important as Campus Insiders continues its growth and expansion into additional platforms and partnerships."
In addition to these seven Campus Insiders-produced games, the Mountain West Network will also retain the digital streaming rights to the eight previously-announced ROOT SPORTS football telecasts. Digital streams of those games will be made available on the MWN in those areas that fall outside of both the ROOT SPORTS Rocky Mountain and Northwest territories, and any additional markets for which the games have been sublicensed to a local cable or broadcast network. The MWN will also endeavor to carry streams from the games that currently remain untelevised and may be produced or streamed by the host institution or a local television provider.
