SAN DIEGO STATE IN NATIONAL RANKINGS
San Diego State moved up one spot to No. 15 in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches’ Top-25 polls after posting a 2-0 mark last week, including a Nov. 18 win over then-No. 25 Utah. San Diego State has been ranked in both the AP and Coaches’ polls for 19 consecutive weeks.

MOUNTAIN WEST DUO ON USBWA WATCH LISTS
The U.S. Basketball Writers’ Association has announced that UNLV freshman guard Rashad Vaughn and Wyoming senior forward Larry Nance Jr. have been named to the initial 2014-15 watch lists for the Wayman Tisdale Award and Oscar Robertson Trophy, respectively. The Wayman Tisdale Award honors the nation’s top freshman player, while the Oscar Robertson Trophy goes to the national player of the year. The player and freshman of the year awards, along with the Henry Iba Award for national coach of the year, will be announced in March and presented to the winners on April 14, 2015.

HOME OPENERS
The remaining three Mountain West teams that kicked off the home portions of their schedules last week were victorious, giving the league a perfect 11-0 record in home openers in 2014-15. Colorado State has won all 16 of its home openers in Moby Arena since the inception of the league in 1999-00, while New Mexico has won 12 straight home lid-lifters at The Pit. San Diego State and UNLV are each riding 10-game win streaks in their home openers at Viejas Arena and the Thomas and Mack, respectively. Boise State (4), Fresno State (3), San José State (2) and Utah State (2) have each won all of their home openers since joining the MW over the last four years.

DIALING FROM LONG DISTANCE
UNLV currently holds the NCAA record for consecutive games with at least one made 3-pointer. Since the official adoption of the 3-point rule at the start of the 1986-87 season, the Runnin’ Rebels have connected on at least one trey in all 912 of their games. UNLV, Princeton, Vanderbilt are the only three teams in the country to have made at least one 3-pointer in every one of their games since the rule was implemented.
