2016 All-Mountain West Indoor Track & Field Teams Announced
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West announced its Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field All-Conference Teams today. All-league selections are awarded to the top-three finishers in each event at the 2016 MW Indoor Championships, which were held Feb. 25-27 at the Albuquerque Convention Center and hosted by the University of New Mexico.
Last Saturday, the Conference announced the Mountain West Men’s and Women’s Coaches of the Year, along with the Men’s and Women’s Outstanding Performer of the Meet recipients. The 2016 MW Men’s Coach of the Year award went to Air Force’s Ralph Lindeman, while the Women’s Coach of the Year honor was presented to Brian Bedard of Colorado State.
New Mexico senior Allan Hamilton earned the MW Men’s Outstanding Performer of the Meet award after placing first in the Long Jump for the second consecutive year, while also finishing second in the Triple Jump. Hamilton’s leap of 25’-3.50” in the Long Jump ranks third-best in MW Indoor Championships history and is the fifth-best mark all-time.
San Diego State junior Micha Auzenne captured the MW Women’s Outstanding Performer of the Meet honor. Auzenne finished first in both the 60 Meter Dash and 60 Meter Hurdles. In the 60 Meter Hurdles, the junior broke a 16-year old MW Championships record with a time of 8.18. The mark was also second-best all-time in MW history.
Below is a list of individual awards, as well as the men’s and women’s All-MW selections with events participated in at the 2016 MW Indoor Championships. The Air Force men’s team captured its second title in Academy history, while the Colorado State women also took the crown for the second time in program history.
