COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the third consecutive year UNLV is set to return to the big stage as the Lady Rebels earned a No. 10 seed and will take on the No. 7 seed Creighton Bluejays (25-5) on Saturday, March 23rd in Los Angeles, California at Pauley Pavilion.
No. 21/19 UNLV clinched the Mountain West automatic bid after winning the MW tournament on Wednesday, March 13th with a 66-49 victory over San Diego State. The Lady Rebels are 30-2 overall and were 17-1 in Conference play as they set their sights on their competition in Los Angeles.
This marks UNLV’s 11th NCAA tournament appearance and makes UNLV the sixth MW institution to make at least three consecutive appearances in the big dance (Boise State, Fresno State, New Mexico, San Diego State and TCU).
The winner of the first-round game between the Lady Rebels and the Bluejays will advance to play the winner of No. 2 UCLA and No. 15 California Baptist.
