Mountain West Baseball Players of the Week - March 25

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – New Mexico senior Jake Holland has earned Mountain West Baseball Player of the Week honors, while teammate Ryan Castillo has been named the MW Baseball Pitcher and Freshman of the Week.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

JAKE HOLLAND, NEW MEXICO

Senior, Catcher, Orlando, Florida/Chipola College

• Led New Mexico to a series victory over San José State last weekend.
• Batted .727 with eight hits, including four home runs and two doubles, 14 RBIs and eight runs scored.
• Posted a .750 on-base percentage and a 2.000 slugging percentage.
• Recorded multi-hit efforts in all three starts.

PITCHER/FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

RYAN CASTILLO, NEW MEXICO

Freshman, Los Lunas, New Mexico/Los Lunas HS

• Pitched five scoreless innings of relief on Saturday against the Spartans.
• Struck out a career-high seven batters.
• Limited SJSU to two hits and no walks.
