COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State senior Tommy Hopfe has been named the Mountain West Baseball Player of the Week, while teammate Noah Beal has been selected the MW Baseball Pitcher of the Week. San Diego State’s Colby Turner collected the MW Baseball Freshman of the Week honor.

 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

TOMMY HOPFE, FRESNO STATE

Senior, Utility, Bakersfield, California/Frontier HS

  • Led Fresno State to a 3-1 record last week, including a series sweep over Nevada.
  • Batted .643 in four starts with nine hits, four RBIs and five runs scored.
  • Posted a .750 on-base percentage and an .857 slugging percentage.
  • Registered multi-hit games in three of four outings.

 

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

NOAH BEAL, FRESNO STATE

Senior, Clovis, California/UNLV

  • Pitched a career-best eight innings in Fresno State’s 9-2 win over Nevada on Saturday.
  • Limited the Wolf Pack to three hits, one walk and no earned runs.
  • Struck out 10 batters in his eighth start of the season.

 

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

COLBY TURNER, SAN DIEGO STATE

Infielder, Huntington Beach, California/Huntington Beach HS

  • Batted .375 in five starts with six hits, six RBIs and a run scored.
  • Posted a .429 on-base percentage and a .625 slugging percentage.
  • Hit safely in all five games of the week.
