COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Air Force senior Jay Thomason has been named the Mountain West Baseball Player of the Week, while Nevada junior Jason Doktorczyk has been selected the MW Baseball Pitcher of the Week. San Diego State’s Jacob McCombs collected the MW Baseball Freshman of the Week honor.

 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

JAY THOMASON, AIR FORCE

Senior, Infield, Auburn, Alabama/Auburn HS

  • Led Air Force to a 3-1 record last week, including a series victory over No. 15 DBU.
  • Batted .643 in four starts with nine hits, 14 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
  • Hit for the cycle after recording a single, double, triple and grand slam against Northern Colorado.
  • Posted a .684 on-base percentage and a 1.786 slugging percentage.
  • Registered multi-hit games in three of four outings.

 

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

JASON DOKTORCZYK, NEVADA

Junior, Seal Beach, California/Sonoma State

  • Picked up his fourth win of the season in Friday’s 18-4 victory over San José State.
  • Limited the Spartans to one earned run, two walks and five hits.
  • Struck out 12 batters, tying his career high.

 

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

JACOB MCCOMBS, SAN DIEGO STATE

Designated Hitter, Rancho Cucamonga, California/Rancho Cucamonga HS

  • Batted .467 in four starts with seven hits, two RBIs and three runs scored.
  • Posted a .556 on-base percentage and a .533 slugging percentage.
  • Registered multi-hit games in two of four outings.
