COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West announced the 2024 Women’s Tennis All-Conference Team and individual honors on Tuesday evening as voted on by the league’s 11 head coaches.
San Diego State’s Yasmine Kabbaj was named the MW Women’s Tennis Player of the Year. The junior is the fourth Aztec to garner the honor. Kabbaj recorded a 12-2 overall record and a 5-0 MW record at No. 1 singles. The Aztec collected the MW Player of the Week nod two times this season.
The MW Freshman of the Year is San José State’s Cheuk Ying Shek. The freshman is the third Spartan to collect the annual nod and first since Irena Muradyan in 2021. Ying Shek went 11-11 overall in singles on the season and 2-4 in Conference action. The freshman earned MW Freshman of the Week honors three times.
