Mountain West Women's Golfer of the Month

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – New Mexico sophomore Ingrid Gutierrez and UNLV freshman Kaylee Benton have been named Mountain West Co-Women’s Golfers of the Month for October. This is the first MW golfer of the month/week accolade for both student-athletes.

INGRID GUTIERREZ, NEW MEXICO
Sophomore, Cuautla, Mexico/Centro Educativo Cocoyoc

  • In the month of October, recorded two top-20 finishes. Gutierrez finished tied for sixth at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational and tied for 18th at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.
  • Carded an even-par 216 at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational and shot a career best seven-under 207 at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.
  • In the opening round of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, which was played at the 6,277-yard Boulder Creek Golf Course, registered a career-best 68 (-4).
  • In the two tournaments, helped the Lobos to a fifth and ninth-place finish at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational and the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, respectively.

KAYLEE BENTON, UNLV
Freshman, Buckeye, Arizona

  • Recorded two top-15 finishes while participating in the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational and the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.
  • In the Rebels’ home tournament, finished tied for 13th while shooting an eight-under 208. This performance helped UNLV tie for first-place in the event.
  • Carded a two-over 218 at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational, which was played at the par 72, 6,298-yard UT Golf Club in Austin, Texas. In that event, the Rebels finished tied for third.
  • Her opening round 68 at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown was a single-round career-best.
