Colorado State Earns 2014 MW Women's Volleyball Title
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Colorado State women’s volleyball team earned the 2014 Mountain West regular season championship on Saturday, November 22. It is the Rams’ sixth consecutive MW championship title and 12th overall in 16 years of MW action. CSU has set a MW record with six consecutive titles surpassing its previous mark of five from 2000-04.
The No. 9 Rams (28-2, 16-1) clinched a share of the title on Wednesday, November 19 with a 3-0 victory against San José State before wrapping up the outright championship today with a 3-0 win at Nevada.
With the championship crown, the Rams earn the Mountain West’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. It will be CSU’s 20th consecutive trip to the postseason.
The Rams wrap up the regular season against Wyoming at Moby Arena on Wednesday, November 26 at 7 p.m. MT. The MW trophy presentation will take place after Wednesday’s match in Fort Collins. Colorado State will find out its NCAA tournament destination on Sunday, November 30 at 6:30 p.m. MT/5:30 p.m. PT on ESPNU.
