Colorado State Wins 2015 MW Women's Volleyball Title

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.  – With a 3-1 win tonight at UNLV, Colorado State won the 2015 Mountain West women’s volleyball crown outright. The No. 13 Rams (23-3, 16-0) earned a share of the title on November 12 when they defeated San José State 3-0 in Fort Collins.

It is the Rams’ seventh consecutive MW championship title and 13th overall in 17 years of MW action. CSU extends its MW record with seven straight titles. The Rams surpassed its previous mark of five from 2000-04 last season.

With the championship crown, the Rams earn the Mountain West’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. It will be CSU’s 21st consecutive trip to the postseason.

The Rams have two Mountain West matches and a non-conference meeting with Iowa State on November 28 remaining to finish up the regular season. The MW trophy presentation will take place on Saturday, November 21, following the Rams’ match with Fresno State in Fort Collins. Colorado State will find out its NCAA tournament destination on Sunday, November 29 at 7 p.m. MT/6 p.m. PT on ESPNU.

The No. 13 Rams (22-3, 15-0) can win the title outright with a loss by Boise State to Nevada on Saturday, November 14 or with a Rams’ win at UNLV on Wednesday, November 18. The Rams are off on Saturday, November 14.
