Colorado State To Face Loyola Marymount In NCAA Women’s Volleyball Tournament

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Mountain West champion Colorado State will face Loyola Marymount in the first round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament on Thursday, December 3 in Palo Alto, California. The No. 12 Rams will be making their 21st consecutive appearance and 27th overall in the national postseason event.

CSU will play the Lions (22-8), an at-large bid recipient from the West Coast Conference, at 4:30 p.m. PT, with the winner moving on to face either Western Athletic Conference champion New Mexico State (28-5) or Pacific-12 Conference foe Stanford (22-6) in the second round of the San Diego sub-regional. The winner of the second round match on Friday, December 4 at 7 p.m. PT will advance to the San Diego Regional, hosted by the University of San Diego on December 11-12.

Under the direction of head coach Tom Hilbert, Colorado State finished the regular season 26-3 overall and 18-0 in conference play. The Rams earned the league’s automatic bid for the 11th time.

Colorado State has advanced to the NCAA Tournament every season since the Mountain West formed in 1999. Four current Mountain West members (Colorado State, New Mexico, San Diego State and UNLV) have represented the league in the NCAA Tournament.
