Four Mountain West Student-Athletes Named 2015 AVCA All-Region


COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Four Mountain West volleyball student-athletes were named to the 2015 American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region teams today. Colorado State’s Adrianna Culbert (Sr., S/OPP), the 2015 Mountain West Player of the Year, is joined on the All-Pacific North Region Team by Sierra Nobley (So., OH) of Boise State. Boise State senior setter Sarah Baugh and Colorado State junior middle blocker Acacia Andrews were named honorable mention.

This marks the 17th consecutive season that the Mountain West is represented on the AVCA All-Region squads. Since 1999, 92 MW student-athletes have earned All-Region accolades with players garnering All-America status 65 times. The 2015 All-America team will be announced on Wednesday, Dec. 16.

Mountain West All-Region notes

* Boise State: Nobley earns Pacific North All-Region honors for the second year in a row after last season’s honorable mention. Baugh becomes the ninth Bronco, the third since Boise State joined the MW in 2011, to earn regional accolades.

* Colorado State: It is the ninth consecutive season that CSU has multiple student-athletes on receiving All-Region honors. This is the third year in a row that Culbert has been named All-Region.
