Four MW Student-Athletes Earn CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The 2016 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Men’s and Women’s At-Large Teams were announced on Thursday and four Mountain West student-athletes received the honor.

The women’s “at-large” team included Boise State’s Brittany Aoyama and Sam Wicks from the swimming and diving squad and Broncos golfer Genevieve Ling. On the men’s side, Air Force’s Lucas Fumagalli, a tennis player, also earned the distinction.

To be eligible, each student-athlete must own a 3.3 cumulative grade-point average, have completed at least one year at their current institution and be a starter or significant contributor.

Aoyama, owner of a 3.96 GPA in health science, Wicks, 3.94 GPA in health science, Ling, 4.00 in communication and Fumagalli, 3.81 mechanical engineer, advance to the national ballot for the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second and third-team All-American honorees will be selected later this month.
