Fresno State Earns Spot in 2014 Sports Authority Mountain West Football Championship Game

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Fresno State captured its second straight MW West Division crown tonight with a 28-21 victory over Hawai‘i at Bulldog Stadium. The Bulldogs (5-3 MW, 6-6 overall) will face the winner of the Utah State at Boise State contest in the 2014 Sports Authority Mountain West Football Championship Game. Fresno State won the inaugural MW championship game last year 24-17 over Utah State.

 

The 2014 Sports Authority Mountain West Football Championship Game is scheduled for 8 p.m. MT/7 p.m. PT on Saturday, Dec. 6. The game will be televised on CBS.

 

Fresno State is led by quarterback Brian Burrell and running back Martez Waller. Burrell has the Bulldogs on a three-game win streak and has thrown for 2,082 yards and 20 touchdowns. Waller has rushed for 1,132 yards and nine touchdowns. Fresno State lost at Boise State on Oct. 17 (37-27) and did not play Utah State during the 2014 regular season.

 

Tickets for the 2014 Sports Authority Mountain West Football Championship game will be available through both participating institutions’ ticket offices.
