FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State softball hosted an on-campus watch party for the NCAA Softball Championship Selection Show that aired live on ESPNU Sunday night. The results of the one-hour special unveiled the No. 17/19 ranked Bulldogs competing at the Los Angeles Regional in the 2016 Division I Championship bracket.

The Bulldogs (41-10-1) open with Cal State Fullerton (43-14) in game one on Friday, May 20 at 3 p.m. Meanwhile Cal State Bakersfield (14-32) will take on tournament host and the No. 12 overall seed UCLA (35-13-1) at 6 p.m.

Both Fresno State and CSU Fullerton won their respective league's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament as neither the Mountain West nor Big West play a conference tournament. UCLA earned an at-large bid and finished second in the Pac-12 and CSU Bakersfield punched their postseason ticket after taking two games from one-seeded New Mexico State in the WAC Tournament.

Fresno State's last loss suffered before entering their nation-leading 23-win streak was credited to Cal State Fullerton on March 22 at Anderson Family Field. Despite the loss, the Bulldogs maintain the series record of 41-33 over the Titans since the two programs first competed in 1981.

The `Dogs are currently tied with the Bruins for the most all-time NCAA postseason appearances as both teams enter the 2016 Championship brackets for the 32nd time.

All competition slates during the Los Angeles Regional will not be broadcasted on television or online, with addition to UCLA's matchups which will provide an internet audio broadcast.

Fresno State last competed at Easton Stadium during a Los Angeles Regional in 2010 after making the trip in 2009 and 2001. The Bruins have hosted both an NCAA Regional and Super Regional round for the past two years with 13 all-time dating back to 1999.
