Mountain West Announces Men's Tennis Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – UNLV junior Jakob Amilon has been named Mountain West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for matches played February 5-7. It is the first career MW weekly honor for Amilon. 

MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JAKOB AMILON, UNLV
Junior, Stockholm, Sweden/Mikael Elais Gymnasium
Helped lead UNLV to a 3-0 week with wins over New Mexico State (6-1) on February 5, and Weber State (4-0) and UC Riverside (6-1) on February 6. 
Posted a perfect 3-0 record in singles play and a 2-1 mark in doubles action during the three matches.
Went undefeated in the No. 1 singles position with straight-set victories over New Mexico State’s Strahinja Trecakov (6-0, 6-3), Jakub Gewert of Weber State (6-2, 6-1) and UC Riverside’s Julian Ruffin (6-2, 6-3). 
Partnered with Ruben Alberts in the top doubles position to defeat the Aggies’ Trecakov and Christofer Goncalves (6-1) and the Highlanders’ Kyle McCann and Sean Yun (6-2).
