Mountain West Announces Men's Tennis Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the third time this season and fourth time in his career, Utah State sophomore Jaime Barajas has been named Mountain West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week. The award covers matches played March 17-23. 

Sophomore, Woodland Hills, California / El Camino Real HS 
  • Helped lead Utah State to a 1-1 record last week, including the Aggies’ first-ever win against Boise State (4-3). 
  • Posted a 2-0 record in the No. 1 singles position and a 2-0 mark in the No. 3 doubles spot. 
  • Against Boise State, came from behind in singles play to defeat the Broncos’ No. 1 player Brian Foley, 1-6, 7-5, 7-5. 
  • Teamed with Andrew Nakajima to defeat Boise State’s Foley and Pedro Platzeck, 6-1, in doubles action. 
  • Earned a straight-set victory against Loyola Marymount’s top singles player Charles Boyce, 6-2, 6-2. 
  • Partnered with Nakajima to down LMU’s Lukas Moenter and Luke Bohusiav, 6-4, at the No. 3 doubles spot.
