Mountain West Announces Men's Tennis Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – New Mexico junior Hayden Sabatka has been named Mountain West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for matches played April 8-11. It is the second weekly honor of the season for Sabatka and fourth of his career.

HAYDEN SABATKA, NEW MEXICO
Junior, Denver, Colorado / Insight School of Colorado
  • Helped New Mexico pull off an upset of No. 18 Tulsa (4-3) in Albuquerque on April 10. 
  • In doubles play, teamed with Bart Van Leijsen at the top spot to defeat the Golden Hurricanes’ No. 77-ranked duo of Matthew Kirby and Okkie Kellerman, 6-3. 
  • Knocked off Tulsa’s No. 53-ranked Or Ram-Harel in three sets, 6-1, 5-7, 6-2, at the No. 1 singles position to clinch the victory for the Lobos.
