Mountain West Announces Men's Tennis Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – UNLV senior Jakob Amilon earned Mountain West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week honors for matches played through April 18. It is the sixth career MW weekly accolade for Amilon.  

MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
JAKOB AMILON, UNLV
Senior, Stockholm, Sweden / Mikael Elais Gymnasium
  • Helped UNLV post Conference wins over New Mexico (4-2) and Air Force (4-0) on April 14 and 16, respectively.
  • Went a combined 4-0 at the No. 1 singles and doubles positions.
  • Did not lose a set in any of his matches, and lost only one game in his doubles contests.
  • In singles, defeated Lobos junior Bart Van Leijsen, 6-1, 7-6 (8), and Air Force’s Max Olson, 7-5, 6-0, in straight sets.
  • With teammate Evaldo Neto, blanked New Mexico 6-0 and defeated Air Force 6-1 at the No. 1 spot.
