Mountain West Announces Women's Swimmer & Diver of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Boise State junior Brittany Aoyama has been named Mountain West Swimmer of the Week, while Nevada senior Krysta Palmer has earned MW Women’s Diver of the Week honors for competition completed through Sunday, November 1. It is the sixth weekly honor of Aoyama’s career and the fifth for Palmer.

Junior, Stockton, California / Linden HS

• Led Boise State to a 2-1 record last week with a split with Utah (W, 158-141) and Florida Gulf Coast (L, 159-140) in Salt Lake City and a win at BYU (153-111).
• Won four individual events, placed second in one event and swam on three winning relay teams.
• Won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 55.40 and placed second in the 50-yard freestyle (23.95) against Utah and FGCU on October 30.
• Swam on the 200-yard medley relay (1:42.82) and 400-yard freestyle relay (3:26.15) teams. Posted top times in the MW in both events at Salt Lake City.
• At BYU on October 31, won the 100 fly (55.13; a), 200-yard butterfly (2:03.83; a) and 100-yard freestyle (51.63; a). Her time in the 200 fly was a personal best.

Senior, Carson City, Nevada / Western Nevada College

• Earned the top points in four springboard events as Nevada beat UC Davis (203-97) and Fresno State (176-121) last week.
• Against UC Davis on October 30, won the 3-meter springboard with an NCAA qualifying mark of 342.90. Her winning 1-meter score of 364.12 is currently the top mark in the Mountain West and qualifies her for NCAA Zones.
• Won the 3-meter (346.35) and 1-meter (294.15) at BYU on October 31, capturing both events with NCAA qualifying scores. Her mark in the 3-meter is the best in the Mountain West this season.
