SAN DIEGO STATE IN NATIONAL RANKINGS
San Diego State moved up one spot to No. 16 in the latest USA Today Coaches’ Top-25 poll and remained at No. 16 in the Associated Press rankings. San Diego State has been ranked in both the AP and Coaches’ polls for 18 consecutive weeks.

ROAD TO 2016 FINAL FOUR® WILL GO THROUGH DENVER
The NCAA has announced hosts for the 2016-2018 preliminary rounds of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championships, and the Mountain West has been selected to serve as host for one of the eight first- and second-round sites in 2016, which will be held at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colo. This will mark the fourth time the MW has hosted one of the men’s preliminary rounds, having done so previously in 2004 and 2008 (co-hosts with Colorado State) and 2011. Most recently, the Mountain West served as host for the 2012 Women’s Final Four®. All four of the previous NCAA events were also held at the Pepsi Center. Additionally, two Mountain West institutions - Boise State (Taco Bell Arena) and San Diego State (Viejas Arena) - were selected to serve as host sites for first- and second-round action for the 2018 tournament.

HOME OPENERS
All eight Mountain West teams that opened the 2014-15 campaign on their home courts last weekend were victorious. Colorado State has won all 16 of its home openers in Moby Arena since the inception of the league in 1999-00, while New Mexico has won 13 straight home lid-lifters at The Pit. San Diego State and UNLV are each riding 10-game win streaks in their home openers at Viejas Arena and the Thomas and Mack, respectively. San José State and Utah State have each won both of their home openers since joining the MW in 2013-14.

SEASON OPENERS
Mountain West teams were a collective 9-2 in their season openers over the weekend, bringing the league’s combined record to 118-25 in season openers since the inception of the Conference in 1999-00. During that span, MW teams are 98-12 at home, 7-10 on the road and 13-3 in neutral-site lid-lifters.

DIALING FROM LONG DISTANCE
UNLV currently holds the NCAA record for consecutive games with at least one made 3-pointer. Since the official adoption of the 3-point rule at the start of the 1986-87 season, the Runnin’ Rebels have connected on at least one trey in all 910 of their games. UNLV, Princeton, Vanderbilt are the only three teams in the country to have made at least one 3-pointer in every one of their games since the rule was implemented.
