Mountain West Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Air Force’s Patrick Corona has been named Mountain West Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, while New Mexico’s Allan Hamilton earned MW Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of Week honors for meets held April 15-18. It is Hamilton’s second consecutive MW weekly accolade and the second of Corona’s career.

 

MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
PATRICK CORONA, AIR FORCE

Junior, Fairfield, Connecticut / Fairfield Collegiate Prep

  • Finished second in the 1,500 Meters at the Bryan Clay Invitational on April 17 in Azusa, California.
  • His time of 3:43.17 is a personal best and currently ranks third in the MW. Also the third-fastest time in Academy history and a Falcon Junior Class record

MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
ALLAN HAMILTON, NEW MEXICO

Junior, Edinburgh, Scotland / Queen Margaret University

  • Top collegiate finisher, placing second overall, in the Long Jump at the Bryan Clay Invitational on April 17 in Azusa, California.
  • His jump of 25’-6.25” set a Bryan Clay Invitational record and is the third-best distance in MW history. The mark ranks first in the Conference and No. 5 in the nation this season.
