Colorado State pushed its win streak to seven with an 8-6 victory over Northern Colorado on March 10. The seven-straight wins has lifted Colorado State's record to 14-12 on the season.
San Diego State's Jordan and Romero
San Diego State's Kayla Jordan has been named Mountain West Softball Player of the Week, while the Aztecs' Erica Romero earned the MW Pitcher of Week honors for games held March 4-8. It is the first career MW weekly accolade for Jordan and second for Romero.
Went 12-for-20 (.600) with six doubles, six RBIs, four runs scored and two stolen bases guide San Diego State to a 4-1 record at last week’s Judi Garman Classic.
Won four games for San Diego State at the Judi Garman Classic. Pitched 28 of the team’s 33 innings and posted a 2.00 ERA with 22 strikeouts and nine walks.
Compton Throws Perfect Game Versus Iowa
Fresno State junior Jill Compton threw her third-career no-hitter and first perfect game as Fresno State defeated Iowa 9-0 in five innings on March 6 at the Judi Garman Classic. Compton is the ninth Bulldog pitcher to toss a perfect game, and the first since 2010. She had nine strikeouts in the game.
