Mountain West Softball Weekly Release
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The 2016 Mountain West softball season turns the page to Conference play this week with 12 games. Nevada enters the MW portion of its schedule with the best record in the league at 19-5. No. 25/23 Fresno State and San Diego State have the second and third-best marks in the Conference at 18-8-1 and 18-10, respectively. All but two teams in the Mountain West enter league play with records above .500.
Colorado State (14-12) has won eight out of its last 10 games heading into Conference action. The Rams host San José State (11-17) in a three-game set, beginning on Thursday, March 24. Nevada welcomes Boise State (8-20) to Reno for three games, starting on Thursday.
The remaining two series feature Utah State (12-11) at New Mexico (15-11) and San Diego State at UNLV (16-13). Both series get under way on Thursday.
Fresno State plays at Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday, March 22. The Bulldogs open MW action on Tuesday, March 29 at Boise State.
