COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Week two of the Mountain West softball season begins Tuesday, March 29 with six contests. Overall, there are 24 Conference games and one nonconference tilt on the schedule this week. 

After an opening weekend series sweep of Boise State, Nevada (22-5 overall) sits alone in first place in the MW with a 3-0 mark in league play. The Wolf Pack take its unblemished Conference mark on the road to San Diego State (19-12, 1-2 MW) to open the week, before returning home this weekend to host second-place New Mexico (17-12, 2-1 MW). 

UNLV (18-14 overall), which is tied with New Mexico for second place in the league with a 2-1 record, travels to San José State (11-17, 0-0 MW) for a midweek series against the Spartans. The Rebels return to Las Vegas on Friday, April 1 to begin a three-game set versus Utah State (13-13, 1-2 MW).  

For the seventh consecutive week, Fresno State (18-9-1, 0-0 MW) remains ranked inside the USA Today/NFCA Top-25 poll. The No. 25 Bulldogs open Mountain West play on Tuesday, March 29 at Boise State (8-23, 0-3 MW). After the Boise State series, Fresno State is set to host San Diego State at Margie Wright Diamond for an early-season showdown between the top-two teams in the preseason Conference poll. 

The remaining two conference series feature Boise State at Colorado State (14-12, 0-0 MW) on Friday, April 1 and Saturday April 2. The Rams will then play a three-game set versus San José State in Fort Collins, beginning on Sunday, April 3.
