Mountain West Softball Weekly Release
San Diego State, Fresno State, UNLV and Utah State all earned three-game sweeps in its mid-week series. The Conference-leading Aztecs won on the road at Nevada, while second-place Fresno State claimed a home series win over New Mexico. UNLV evened its MW and overall record to .500 (6-6, 20-20) with a three-game sweep of Boise State and Utah State moved into fourth-place in the league standings after winning three games at Colorado State.
New Mexico's Casados and Fresno State's Compton Named MW Player And Pitcher Of The Week
New Mexico's Jasmine Casados has been named Mountain West Softball Player of the Week, while the Fresno State's Jill Compton earned MW Pitcher of Week honors for games held March 31-April 5. It is the third career MW weekly accolade for Casados and sixth for Compton.
Casados went 5-for-8 (.625) with a double, triple, home run, two runs scored, three RBIs and four walks as New Mexico earned a 2-1 series win over Nevada last week
Compton guided Fresno State to a road series win at league-leading San Diego State, as the Bulldogs won 5-0 on Thursday and 8-1 in the series finale on Saturday. She threw two complete games and allowed a total of seven hits and one unearned run, finishing the weekend with a 0.00 ERA
