Mountain West Suspends Two Women's Soccer Players

 

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Two Mountain West women’s soccer players have been issued an NCAA automatic two-game suspension following their fighting ejections from two separate matches played on Sunday, Aug. 31. San José State’s Mireya Wathen-Mayora and Wyoming’s Candace Sciberras were both in violation of NCAA Soccer Playing Rule 12, Section 12, and Mountain West Sportsmanship Rules 4.2-a, 4.4.1 and 4.2-d, 4.4.4.

Wathen-Mayora will be prohibited from participating in San José State’s next two matches, which are scheduled for Friday, Sept. 5 versus Cal Poly and Sunday, Sept. 7 at Pacific. Sciberras will miss the Cowgirls’ Sept. 5 match at Utah Valley and the Sept. 12 contest at South Dakota.
