Mountain West to be Represented by 16 Individuals and One Relay Team at 2016 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Mountain West is slated to be represented by 16 individuals and one relay team at the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Alabama on March 11-12. Air Force tops the Conference with five individuals set to compete at the Championships. 

The Falcons are represented by Hannah Everson (5,000 Meter Run) on the women’s side and Dylan Bell (Pole Vault), Patrick Corona (3,000 Meter Run), Taylor Smith (High Jump) and Jamiel Trimble (200 Meter Dash) on the men’s side. 

New Mexico and Colorado State will both be represented by three individuals, with the Lobos also sending a relay team. Sophie Connor (Women’s Mile), Jannell Hadnot (Women’s Triple Jump), Calli Thackery (Women’s 3,000 Meter Run) are set to compete for UNM, along with the Women’s Distance Medley Relay team of Connor, Thackery, Holly Van Grinsven, and Emily Hosker-Thornhill. Jefferson Abbey (Men’s 3,000 Meter Run), Jerrell Mock (Men’s 5,000 Meter Run) and Mostafa Hassan (Men’s Shot Put) are set to represent the Rams. 

Boise State and Utah State both have two individuals heading to the Championships, while Wyoming will be represented by one student-athlete. For the Broncos, Allie Ostrander (Women’s 3,000 Meter and 5,000 Meter Runs) and David Elliott (Men’s Mile and 3,000 Meter Run) are both slated to compete in a pair of races. Parker Bluth and Dillon Maggard will represent the Aggies in the Men’s 200 Meter Dash and Men’s Mile, respectively. Wyoming’s Jordan Charles will race in the Men’s 60 Meter Hurdles.

ESPN3 will stream the meet live on March 11 starting at 4:25 p.m. Eastern time and March 12 starting at 4:55 p.m. Eastern time. A re-air of the championship will take place on Sunday, March 13 starting at 7 p.m. Eastern time on ESPN2 and also Wednesday, March 23 starting at 10 p.m. Eastern time on ESPNU.
