Mountain West Women's Basketball Weekly Release
Fresno State, San José State and Colorado State opened Mountain West Conference action undefeated after the first week of play. The Bulldogs and Spartans are 2-0, while the Rams are 1-0 headed into Wednesday night's games. Every MW league match-up is scheduled for broadcast on the Mountain West Network. Fresno State extended its conference opener win streak to 12 games on December 30 when the Bulldogs beat visiting UNLV 58-54.
Boise State senior Miquelle Askew became the 43rd Mountain West women's basketball player to accumulate over 1,000 points and 500 rebounds during their course of time in the league. Askew earned her 1,000th career point earlier in the season and followed up with her 500th rebound on January 2 in the first quarter at Colorado State. She is the 20th Bronco all-time to record 500 career boards.
Nevada's Julia Shelbourn and New Mexico's Bryce Owens are nominees for the 2015-16 Allstate WBCA Good Works Team. The team will be announced on in February.
