Mountain West Women's Golfer of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State freshman Kristin Simonsen has been named the Mountain West Women’s Golfer of the Week for tournaments played from Feb. 7-15. This is Simonsen’s first career MW golfer of the month/week accolade.

  • At the Peg Barnard Invitational in Stanford, California, was the Bulldogs' top finisher, leading her team to a seventh-place finish in a tournament with eight top 50 teams.
  • Shot a two-round 147 to finish in 15th-place on the 6,084-yard, par 71 Stanford Golf Course.
  • This was the Bulldogs’ best team finish (597) at the Peg Barnard Invitational in 10 trips to the event, breaking the previous record set in 2004-05 (607).
  • Simonsen led the tournament with the top par-3 scoring average (2.70), and she had the fifth-most birdies (7) in the field.
