Mountain West Women's Soccer Weekly Release
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The 2016 Mountain West women’s soccer Conference schedule kicks off this weekend with 12 matches slated to be played. The Mountain West Network on Campus Insiders will broadcast 11 of the 12 contests this week.
Defending Mountain West Tournament champion San José State (3-2-3) opens the Conference portion of its schedule on the road. The Spartans visit UNLV on Friday at 7 p.m. PT, before traveling to Reno to face Nevada (3-4-0) on Sunday at 1 p.m. PT.
UNLV owns the league’s top record at 7-2-0 heading into MW play. After Friday’s clash with SJSU, the Rebels host the Conference’s hottest team in Fresno State (5-3-0) on Sunday at noon PT. The Bulldogs have won five consecutive matches entering Friday’s road contest at Nevada at 6:30 p.m. PT.
Four-time defending regular-season MW champion San Diego State (2-5-0) opens its quest for a fifth-consecutive crown with a pair of home matches on Montezuma Mesa. The Aztecs challenge Air Force (4-2-1) on Friday at 7 p.m. PT and Colorado College (4-4-0) on Sunday at noon PT. Prior to their matchup with SDSU, the Tigers play at New Mexico (4-2-2) on Friday at 7:30 p.m. MT, while Air Force will challenge the Lobos on Sunday at 1 p.m. MT.
Friday’s remaining matches feature Wyoming (4-3-1) at Boise State (1-7-1) and Colorado State (2-5-1) at Utah State (4-4-0). Both contests are slated to begin at 4 p.m. MT. On Sunday at 1 p.m. MT, Boise State hosts Colorado State, while Wyoming travels to face Utah State.
