Mountain West Women's Soccer Weekly Release
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Entering the second weekend of the Mountain West women’s soccer Conference schedule, four teams hold 2-0 records. Boise State, San Diego State, San José State and Utah State all posted a perfect record over the opening weekend of league play. Since the current alignment took place in 2014, teams starting the Conference season 2-0 have made the Mountain West tournament five out of six times.
All 12 matches this weekend are scheduled to be broadcast live and for free on the Mountain West Network.
San Diego State (4-5-0 overall) and San José State (5-2-3 overall) will meet on Sunday at noon PT in San Jose in a rematch of the 2015 Mountain West Championship title contest. The Spartans advanced past the Aztecs in that match on penalty kicks to earn their first Mountain West title in any sport. On Friday, SJSU hosts New Mexico (4-4-2, 0-2-0 MW) at 4 p.m. PT, while SDSU travels to challenge Fresno State (5-5-0, 0-2-0) at 7 p.m. PT.
Boise State (3-7-1 overall) and Utah State (6-4-0 overall) will both make the trip to Colorado Springs for matches against Air Force (5-3-1, 1-1-0 MW) and Colorado College (5-5-0, 1-1-0 MW). The Broncos will face the Tigers on Friday at 3 p.m. MT, while the Aggies and Falcons will square off at 6 p.m. MT. On Sunday, Boise State plays Air Force and Utah State challenges CC. Both matches are scheduled for noon MT.
The remainder of Friday’s schedule pits Nevada (4-5-0, 1-1-0 MW) at Colorado State (2-7-1, 0-2-0 MW) and UNLV (8-3-0, 1-1-0 MW) at Wyoming (4-5-1, 0-2-0 MW) at 4 p.m. MT. On Sunday, Nevada is at Wyoming at noon MT and UNLV faces Colorado State in Fort Collins at 1 p.m. MT.
