Mountain West Women's Soccer Weekly Release
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – With just two weekends remaining in the regular season, UNLV is in first place in the Mountain West women’s soccer standings. The Rebels (13-3-1 overall) have 19 points thanks to a 6-1-1 Conference record. San Diego State (7-6-2 overall) ranks second behind UNLV with a 5-1-2 record and 17 points. Both squads enter the weekend riding three-match win streaks.
The Rebels, who have already clinched one of six spots in the 2016 Mountain West Championship, will play at home this weekend, hosting fifth place Boise State on Friday at 5 p.m. PT and fourth place Utah State on Sunday at 1 p.m. PT. The Aztecs, who have won four consecutive Mountain West regular-season titles, take to the road for contests at Colorado State and Wyoming on Friday at 3 p.m. MT and Sunday at 1 p.m. MT, respectively.
San José State, which sits in third place in the league standings, will play a split weekend, traveling to Colorado Springs on Friday to challenge Air Force at 6 p.m. MT. The Spartans return home to close out the weekend against Colorado College on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. PT.
Each of the 12 Mountain West women’s soccer programs are fighting for one of six spots in the 2016 Mountain West Championship. The tournament is scheduled for Nov. 1-5 at the SDSU Sports Deck on the campus of San Diego State.
