COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After winning its first Mountain West Women’s Soccer Championship on November 7, San José State earned the Conference’s automatic bid into the 2015 NCAA Tournament. The appearance marked the Spartans first NCAA Tournament berth since the 2000 season.

San José State went toe-to-toe with No. 3-ranked Stanford in Palo Alto, California, in the first round of the championship on November 13. MW Defensive Player of the Year Zoe Makrigiannis recorded five saves in the contest, but a pair of first-half goals lifted the top-seeded Cardinal to a 2-0 victory over SJSU.

The Spartans concluded the 2015 campaign with a 10-8-4 overall record.
