Coaching Milestones Up Ahead: Colorado State head coach Ryun Williams and Nevada head coach Jane Albright have a few coaching milestones coming up this season. Williams is three wins away from his 300th overall, while Albright is 11 shy from No. 500 overall and nine from her 100th with the Wolf Pack. When Williams reaches No. 300, it will bring the number of Mountain West head coaches with 300 or more career wins to five – Boise State’s Gordy Presnell - 554; UNLV’s Kathy Olivier - 320; and Utah State’s Jerry Finkbeiner - 508.

Top Spartan: San José State senior guard Ta‘Rea Cunnigan is on pace to set the Spartans’ career scoring record this season, not just for the women’s program but will pass the men’s mark as well. Cunnigan has 1,586 career points. She is 174 shy from reaching the women’s mark (1,760 by Karen Mason, 1978-81) and 181 from the men’s (1,767 by Ricky Berry, 1986-88).

Five 20s: UNLV senior Danielle Miller scored 20 or more points in the first five Lady Rebel games of the season. Miller opened the season with 23 points in the win against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and followed up with 21 against Loyola Marymount. At the Bank of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine Classic, Miller scored 23 against SEC foe Missouri and a season-high 26 versus host Hawai‘i. She opened the UNLV Lady Rebel Round-up with 20 to stop Delaware State, but had the streak stopped with 15 against South Dakota State.

All-Tournament Honors: Several MW student-athletes earned all-tournament recognition for their play over the Thanksgiving holiday week – Deanna Weaver, BSU, Great Alaska Shootout; Elin Gustavsson, CSU, Omni Hotels Classic; Iman Lathan and Mimi Mungedi, Nevada, Nugget Classic; Antiesha Brown, UNM, Lobo Thanksgiving Tournament; Jasmine Smith, SJSU, Cal Classic; Hannah Hutchins, USU, BTI Classic; Marquelle Dent, Wyoming, St. Mary’s Thanksgiving Classic.

Quick Scoring: Colorado State sophomore guard Elin Gustavsson scored 22 points in just 7.5 minutes for the Rams midway thru the November 29 contest at Colorado, building the CSU lead back up to 12 points. She finished the game with a career-high 28 points in the double-overtime loss (87-81).

Sheedy Reaching for 1,000: Fresno State senior Alex Sheedy is closing in on her 1,000th career point. She currently has 934 points after scoring 16 in the Bulldogs last game at CSU Bakersfield on November 30.

Scoring Record Set: San José State scored a Mountain West record 119 points in the Spartans home opener against Columbia on November 16. The previous mark was 110 by Colorado State against Stony Brook on December 28, 2002. SJSU supplemented the point total with a Mountain West record 42 free throws made in a game, six more than the old record of 37 by Wyoming on March 28, 2007 and TCU on March 4, 2006.

Moe Triple-Double: Nevada junior guard T Moe recorded the first triple-double of the season in the league with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists against UC Santa Barbara on November 14. Her rebound and assist marks were single-game career-highs.

Preseason FOY Becoming Aztec Tradition: McKynzie Fort became the fifth consecutive San Diego State rookie to earn MW Preseason Freshman of the Year honors. Teammates Desi Culberson (2011-12) and Chloe Johnson (2013-14) also earned the top first-year player honor.
