Five Mountain West Student-Athletes Named To All-Region Teams
Five Mountain West women’s soccer players were named to the 2014 National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Women’s All-Pacific Region teams last week.
Wyoming’s Kaitlyn Lomsnes, the 2014 Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year, was a second-team honoree, along with Colorado College’s Jessie Ayers and Sarah Schweiss.
Utah State Taryn Rose, the 2014 Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year and Kaeli Vandersluis of Colorado College were named to the third-team.
Six Mountain West Teams Earn Academic Honors
Six Mountain West women's soccer teams were named to the 2013-14 NSCAA Women's Team Academic Award list. Fresno State (3.30 GPA), Nevada (3.20), New Mexico (3.65), UNLV (3.33), Utah State (3.39) and Wyoming (3.40) were all honored. To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.25 for the entire academic year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player's GPA, then dividing by the number of players.
