Falcons Soaring

Air Force closed out its season-opening six-match homestand in impressive fashion last weekend, defeating Central Michigan and Oakland by a combined score of 8-3. The wins moved the Falcons to 3-3 on the season. Leading the offensive charge was freshman midfielder Angela Karamanos, who scored three goals in the two contests.

Aztecs Topple Foes At Nike Portland Invitational

San Diego State won both of its matches at last week's Nike Portland Invitational. The Aztecs (4-1-1) topped Washington 2-1 on Sept. 12 and then took down host Portland by the same score 48 hours later. Freshmen Aliyah Utush and Stacie Moran were rewarded for their strong play by being named Offensive and Defensive Most Valuable Player, respectively. Utush and Moran were also honored with the Conference's Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards. San Diego State received five votes in the latest NSCAA Top 25 Poll and are No. 20 in the Soccer America Top 25 Poll.
