Mountain West Suspends Wyoming Football Student-Athlete

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Wyoming junior linebacker Nehemie Kankolongo has been issued a one-game suspension for targeting and initiating contact against an opponent with the crown of the helmet, in accordance with NCAA Football Playing Rule 9-1-3, during the Wyoming at Air Force game on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Kankolongo will be prohibited from participating in Wyoming's next football game, which is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 28 at Texas State.

The disciplinary action is a result of the weekly review conducted by the Mountain West office of all player safety fouls and falls under NCAA Football Playing Rule 9-6-2. The Mountain West will have no further comment regarding this case.
