Mountain West Announces Staff Additions
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Mountain West Commissioner Craig Thompson has named Lynn Hughes as the Sports Administration Intern and Stormy Buonantony as the MW Network Production Assistant. Both began their duties on August 1 and will serve in their respective capacities for the 2014-15 academic year.
Hughes will work in the areas of sport administration, compliance, championships and communications. Prior to her joining the MW, Hughes worked as an academic services assistant in the University of Oklahoma athletics department. In addition to her work at Oklahoma, Hughes served as a compliance intern and member of the Student Advisory Board while at Indiana University.
A Mechanicsburg, Illinois native, Hughes is a 2011 graduate of Indiana University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. She earned her Master of Education degree from the University of Oklahoma in May 2013.
Buonantony, a 2014 graduate of San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism, comes to the Mountain West Network with several years of reporting, editing and camera work experience. Most recently, Buonantony was part of Aztec News, where she filmed, edited and wrote player profiles and news-style sports packages. Buonantony also spent time as a reporter and anchor for Prep Sports Live, which aired on Cox Cable, Time Warner Cable and AT&T U-Verse in the San Diego market. In addition, the Las Vegas, Nevada, native was a 2013 spring semester intern at KFMB-TV, the CBS affiliate in San Diego.
While at the Mountain West, Buonantony will shoot and edit video packages, as well as develop and implement video content promoting the Conference and its member institutions. She will also research, write and produce online features for the network.
