Aztecs Fall In NCAA Regional

San Diego State had its 2014 season come to an end on May 17 with a 9-1, six-inning loss to 13/13 Michigan in the 2014 NCAA Division I Softball Championship’s Tempe Regional. The Aztecs opened the regional with an 8-7, eight-inning loss to the Wolverines, then dispatched Dartmouth 8-0 in six innings in an elimination game on May 17. SDSU’s 40 victories are the fourth-most in program history, and the most since winning a school-record 44 in 2008.

UNLV's Dodd Gets The Nod

UNLV head coach Lisa Dodd was selected to be one of three assistant coaches for the 2014 USA National Softball Team, as announced by the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) of America and USA Softball. Dodd will be in her second stint as a coach with Team USA, previously having coached with the 2013 USA Softball Junior Women’s National Team at their ISF World Championships in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Twenty-Six athletes have accepted invitations to the 2014 USA Softball Women’s National Team Selection Camp scheduled for June 8-19. These athletes will compete in a series of practices and exhibition games in hopes of making the final 17-player roster that will compete for Team USA throughout the summer.
