Utah State Continues Hot Streak

The Utah State Aggies have rebounded from its 10-game losing streak earlier this month quite nicely, winning its last eight games, including a three-game sweep to open Conference play against Colorado State. With 13 wins on the season, the Aggies (13-13) have already eclipsed last year’s win total (11). It is the first Conference sweep for the Aggies since 2011, and first home Conference sweep since 2007.

Historic Win For SDSU's Van Wyk

San Diego State rallied for five runs in the top of the seventh inning of Friday’s MW contest at New Mexico to earn a come-from-behind 11-9 victory. It was the 600th career win for Aztec head coach, Kathy Van Wyk. Van Wyk, in her 18th season at San Diego State, has guided the team to nine NCAA tournament appearances, including six straight. She has been named the MW Coach of the Year four times and the Aztecs have won six MW titles under her watch. Van Wyk’s career record now stands at 601-403-1.


San Diego State sophomore left-handed pitcher Danielle O’Toole ranks third in the NCAA in wins this season with 17 ... her teammate, senior Patrice Jackson is tied for the NCAA lead in home runs with 13 on the season. Jackson leads the nation with 40 walks and is second in walks per game at 1.21 ... San José State sophomore infielder Jessie Hutstetler is second in the nation in on-base percentage at .637 ... Nevada averages 6.61 runs per game, placing them at No. 13 in the latest NCAA team rankings ... Boise State is stealing 2.21 bases per game, the seventh-best avearge in the nation this season.
