Punching Their Tickets
San Diego State, New Mexico and Fresno State have all clinched a spot in the 2013 MW Women’s Soccer Championship. The Aztecs and Lobos are currently tied atop the league standings with 6-1 records (18 points), while the Bulldogs are 5-2-1 (16 points) in Conference play. The top eight finishers in the regular season advance to the conference tournament, held Nov. 4-9 in Albuquerque, N.M.
Getting Hot At The Right Time
Fresno State is in the midst of a six-game unbeaten streak (5-0-1), while Wyoming hasn’t lost in its last four matches (3-0-1). New Mexico has won three straight matches, while San Diego State and Utah State have each won two consecutive contests.
Scoring Race Still Close
San Diego State’s Hannah Keane (24 points), holds a two-point edge over Fresno State’s Morgan Castain (22 points). Both are tied for the MW lead in goals with 10 apiece.
