The Mountain West Network powered by Campus Insiders will live stream 16 MW baseball games from April 1-8.

Mountain West action continues this weekend with six of the seven teams competing against each other. UNLV is currently in first place at 9-3 and returns to Conference play with a 3-game series at Fresno State. The MW’s seven teams will play 30 intra-league games to determine a regular-season champion and seeding for the 2014 Mountain West Baseball Championship, May 21-25, at Earl E. Wilson Stadium in Las Vegas.

New Mexico junior Alex Real has been named to the Johnny Bench Award watch list. The award is presented annually to the top catcher in college baseball. Former Lobo catcher Mitch Garver was a finalist for the award in 2012 and 2013.

Air Force freshman outfielder Tyler Jones became the first Falcon player to have a four-hit game, going 4-for-5 in a 13-8 loss to New Mexico on March 28.

UNLV head coach Tim Chambers will be inducted into the Southern Nevada Sports Hall of Fame as a part of the 2014 class on May 30. Chambers’ career spans more than 25 years coaching at the high school, junior college and senior college levels in Las Vegas.
