Colorado State sits atop the Mountain West standings with a two-game lead at 10-1. Boise State is currently in second at 8-3. Fresno State and Nevada are tied for third at 7-4. The MW’s 11 teams will play 18 intra-league games to determine a regular-season champion and seeding for the 2014 Reese’s Mountain West Women’s Basketball Championship, March 10-15, at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Colorado State has won 14 of its last 15 games and is outscoring its opponents by an average of 26.4 points per game in its current seven-game win streak.

Boise State returned to its roots on Feb. 8 with a home victory over Utah State, 83-62 in Bronco Gym, the first home of BSU women’s basketball. Since the opening of Taco Bell Arena in 1982, the Broncos have played the occasional game in Bronco Gym, the last one being an 82-59 win over San José State on Feb. 10, 2007.

Nevada tied a school-record 11 three-point field goals in an 84-65 win against San Diego State on Feb. 8. Arielle Wideman and Danika Sharp had four each with Wideman’s effort marking a career-high.

Utah State senior Jennifer Schlott became the all-time Aggie record holder on Feb. 8 with 376 career assists.

New Mexico senior Sara Halasz is just 13 points away from becoming the 18th Lobo in program history to join the 1,000-point club.

Utah State guard Jennifer Schlott and Colorado State guard Caitlyn Duffy were named to the Capital One® Academic All-District team on Jan. 30. Schlott, representing District VIII, is a senior marketing major carrying a 3.48 grade point average, while Duffy, on the District VII squad, is a sophomore biological science major with a 3.72 gpa. Both women will move forward to the Capital One® Academic All-America ballot.

Utah State senior Jennifer Schlott has been named to the Nancy Lieberman Award watch list. The award honors the top point guard in the nation and is presented by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Schlott leads the Mountain West with 23.9 points and 6.3 assists per game.
