Release by San Diego State Athletic Media Relations
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – San Diego State will play host to IPFW on Tuesday, March 15, in the first round of the NIT. Game time is set for 7 p.m. PT and the contest will air exclusively on ESPN3. The postseason appearance is the Aztecs’ 11th straight, which extends the school record.
IPFW finished the regular season with a 24-9 record, including a 12-4 mark in the Summit League, which was good for a co-regular-season championship along with South Dakota State.
The Aztecs, meanwhile, won the outright Mountain West regular-season title and reached the finals of the MW Championship. SDSU will enter the first-round game with a 25-9 record (16-2 MW).
The winner of the game will face either Long Beach State, a team the Aztecs defeated on the road this season, or Washington, a squad it beat two years ago, but lost to in Seattle in 2014-15.
SDSU men’s hoops 2015-16 season ticket holders can go online to GoAztecs.com beginning Sunday, March 13, at 7 p.m. PT to purchase tickets. Season ticket holders can also visit the Aztec Ticket Office (Qualcomm Stadium, Window E) on Monday, March 14 (9 a.m. PT – 5 p.m. PT) to buy tickets.
Current San Diego State students can purchase their NIT tickets starting on Monday, March 14, at the Viejas Arena box office at 10 a.m. PT. Students can buy up to two tickets in the SDSU student section for $5 apiece and must present their valid RedID.
As for general public tickets, those will go on sale on Tuesday, March 15, starting at 9 a.m. PT at GoAztecs.com. Fans can also purchase tickets in person starting at 10 a.m. PT at the Viejas Arena box office or the Aztec Ticket Office at Qualcomm Stadium (Window E). Tickets start at $10.
