Luke Advances To Finals On Both Boards

FRESNO, Calif. - Senior Stacey Luke leads the way for the Bulldogs at the Bruin Diving Invite hosted by UCLA. She had a sixth place finish in the 1-meter dive and a ninth place finish in the 3-meter dive, after two days of competition.

On Friday, the divers competed in the 3-meter dive where the top 18 divers advanced to the finals. Luke was the only 'Dog to move on to the final round with an eighth place prelim score of 267.65. After the finals she finished ninth with a cumulative first and second round total of 541.70.

Hannah Prigge (244.05) just barely missed the finals as she finished 19th in the preliminary round and Lacie Ruth (192.25) finished 44th out of the 55 divers.

On Saturday, both Luke and Prigge advanced to the finals in the 1-meter dive. Luke was tied for fourth heading into the final round with a score of 256.10 and ended up earning a sixth place finish with a total score of 513.30. Prigge was in eighth place after the prelims with a score of 249.90 and finished in ninth after a final round total score of 488.55. Ruth scored a 171.40 in the preliminary round finishing 50th out of 56 divers.

The Bruin Diving Invite will conclude Sunday with the Platform dive. The preliminary round will start at 9:30 a.m. and the top 12 will advance to the finals.
