Swimming & diving recap: CSU excels at USA Speedo Western Zones

FERERAL WAY, Wash.—The Rams sped past their opponents in the USA Speedo Western Zones in hopes of qualifying for the Olympic Trials, Monday.
Breann Fuller jumped back into the competition pool with power. Fuller swam to a 5th-place finish in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2 minutes, 18.63 seconds and a 6th-place finish in the 100 Backstroke at 1:03.94. Fuller also captured her 200 Back Olympic Trials cut during a time trial with a qualifying time of 2:17.92. Fuller now has made both the 100 and 200 Backstroke trial cuts.
Kelly Mathews swam to a personal best in the 200 Breaststroke. Her time of 1:13.98, following her prelims mark of 1:13.44, was good for 14th place in the 100 Breaststroke. Mathews was joined in the pool by her future teammate, Erica Stock.
Incoming freshman, Stock swam to an Olympic Trials cut in the 200 Breaststroke, with a 3rd-place finish and a personal best of 2:35.30. She added a 7th-place finish in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:12.45 and a 10th-place finish in the 400 IM.
These performances leave the Rams with the Olympic Trials insight, June 25-July 2 in Omaha, Neb.
